Yep. We are raffling off some items. Quite a few items! We have over $1000 worth of items and services. So if you are wondering what it is you could win - have a look at this list!

1. We have 2 sets of 2 training sessions from Joel Mitchell himself! He's no joke and has kept people in shape, motivated, and consistent with their training efforts for well over a decade. Each set is worth $100.

2. We have a hair cut up for grabs from the very lovely and talented hair stylist, Kim Henry at Salon Divine

3. The Sherpa Group Two from Portland are a rep group that represents quite a few different outdoor lines. They have kindly donated some products from Mountain Hardware and Nikwax will be also giving aftercare products to go along with each donated item.

This is the Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer Down Jacket a $300 value. We will be raffling off one Men's jacket and one Women's jacket each with a Nikwax Down Care Kit.
This is the Mountain Hardware Drifter 4DP Tent. It is a 4 person Dry Pitch Tent, a $340 value. We will be raffling off one of these along with some Nikwax Tent & Gear Solarproof.

4. In another post, we did tell you about the kind donation from Bell Town Vision - but we are telling you about it again.
Here we have the Oakley Gascan Polarized sunglasses, a $150 value. Summer is coming around, so this will be a nice item to win!

We will be selling the raffle tickets at $5 a piece or an arm's length for $20!  And you never know, we might get a few more items to throw in the raffle pool. We will also be selling t-shirts for the 7th Annual TrackSuit Invitational for $15 that have been printed and donated by Inkblot Screenprinting, so RSVP and come to the show! It's all for a good cause and it will be quite the epic party!

the musical line-up

As we have stated many, many times before - we are rolling a lot differently this year. One of the big, BIG changes would have to be the addition of music. While we cannot - and will never - stray away from our traditional pub crawl, we did feel that is was time to add a serious par-tay element to the mix...you know, to keep it fresh! Dare we even say...dope.

Did I go too far? Possibly.

Never mind that and let us introduce you to the musicians responsible for putting, as our friend Andrew so awesomely put it, the word dance into attendance.

First on the line up: Iron Mic - they are a local band of the rock, hip-hop, persuasion with a bit of a Red Hot Chili Pepper funky bass line. To listen to them or even buy a track or 2 or 12 visit Reverb Nation http://www.reverbnation.com/ironmicus

Next, we have another local band, Feverton. They are here on this earth to blow your funky mind. It's like Parliament met Guru's Jazzmatazz - especially when Angie Stone sings! You can also listen to their Ape Strut EP on their website or find them on Reverb Nation. http://www.reverbnation.com/feverton

Last, but certainly not least, we have from Portland, OR, DJ Wicked - seen in the photo above. We got the fine pleasure of seeing him spin with Ohmega Watts at LoFi's Stop Biting Night. If this dude does not get at least a head bop out of you, then there is something wrong you. He spins vinyl only and it is ridiculously impressive as you can view for yourself here...http://bit.ly/10H7hor

We hope that this gets you super psyched! We certainly are...and April 26th is just over 2 weeks away!

his word is bond - a verse written from the TSI Bible, Andrew Ahl proverbs 4:26

My friend Andrew IS. A. F'N. GENIUS. I love reading his emails because they always crack me up. The way he delivers his thoughts is pure gold. So much so, I absolutely had to share this with you all!

What it is!

My good good friend Michelle [aka Filipino Michelle because I know a few folks named Michelle] has organized a rad conceptual party crawl slash fundraiser.

Every year since I've known her she's held a TrackSuit Invitatioanl pub crawl in April to celebrate her birthday - then it became its own entity.

The concept is easy - wear a tracksuit, group up, go from pub to pub, then attend a dance party / fundraiser at the Sunset.

Michelle butters her bread on the hip-hop side so polish those up-rocks and body pops. Church!

There are three rules - one addresses attire:

THIS year it's bigger and badder than ever AND it's a fundraiser - a legitimate fundraiser - and it will 'be' in Ballard. For serious. She's got sponsors.

WHEN: 7PM, Friday April 26
WHERE: Ballard [exact starting bar TBD, there will be a total of 3 bars in the mixxx]
ATM: the crawl is freezies, the benefit party donation is 10 duckets at the door

The official poster is attached for distribution as you see fit.

I will be in attendance - extra emphasis on the word 'dance'. And lately I never go out so there's that.

My tracksuit has a name [Cocoa Taupe or C.T. if you're nasty] and it's been custom tailored to Fit. All. My. Jelly. Ew. Yes.

Act like you know. You know you're going to be in some drank that night anyway. Why not strap it on and make it count? Just sayin'....

Velour is a verb,

A

you are invited to the 7th annual tracksuit invitational and hope for joel fundraiser

We know you've been waiting and we will have you wait no more! It is time for you to socialize in your best track suit and take it out for a few drinks and some dancing with it's friends. It is time for the 7th Annual Track Suit Invitational - FRIDAY APRIL 26TH.

For those of you who are unaware of what the TrackSuit Invitational is, it is an annual "sporting event" ... or pub crawl. We invite like minded, track suit loving, cocktail/beer drinking, fun loving folks out for a night of sharing their best (but least worn in public) outfit in the company of friends. At this point in the invite we usually say that we do this for our own enjoyment and not for charity...but this year, we are rolling a bit differently.

While we are still doing this for our own enjoyment, we are doing this for charity - for one of our own.
Rule number 2 is that you MUST listen to the whistle and timer guy. You still have to listen to that guy, but we ask all of you to invite your friends and everyone that you can to also BE THERE for that guy. His name is Joel Mitchell and just before Christmas, he was diagnosed with Stage 4, Advance Testicular Cancer. The TrackSuit Invitational is naturally set up to transition to becoming a charity event, and this is the time to do it!

So here is the low down:

There is a neighborhood change. (OMG, I know!) We are moving to Ballard everyone! The pub crawl with start on April 26th at 7PM at a place still to be determined. We are going to spend time at 3 bars before heading to The Sunset at 9:00Pm for an awesome party with the bands IRON MIC and FEVERTON.
The pub crawl portion will be free of charge, but once we get to the Sunset there will be a $10 cover. This will get you entry and a free TrackSuit Invitational 2013 T-Shirt. And we are not stopping there! We will be raffling off a ton of fun prizes and we will be doing a Bone Marrow Drive for Love Hope Strength!

You will be able to purchase advance tickets online by going to http://www.sunsettavern.com/ These tickets should be available for purchase soon.

We have still have some rules that you need to abide by. If you have not been to this event, please read these rules carefully.

1. You MUST be wearing a track SUIT. A full track SUIT. Leisure suits that are velour are acceptable. We will not accept track tops and jeans or track pants and a lame t-shirt. In the past, we have accepted Member's Only Jackets; it is not preferred, but it has been accepted. We will not even acknowledge your existence if you show up dressed inappropriately. If you choose to not wear a track suit, you CAN wear a giant banana costume or some other food costume.

2. You MUST listen to the whistle and timer guy. We have one every year. He keeps the time and keeps us moving. He is NOT responsible for you. If you get lost, it's your own damn fault. If you lose the group, too bad for you. If you can't find the group, then you are stupid and should just go home.

3. You MUST act responsibly. We are a new group to the Ballard area bars and we want you to be respectful. We are getting lucky and they are extending us some pretty sweet drink specials. Don't be an asshole, tip your bartender, and no chest bumpin' the bouncers because they will kill you. And of course, we ask everyone not to drink and drive.

These are the basic rules. We don't ask for much.

AND - this is a public event, bring ALL of your friends. But if they are jerks, leave them at home.

**There is an exception to Rule #1 this year. If you are only attending the party at the Sunset, we will allow...regular clothes. If you are coming in regular clothes, do know that you might feel left out and quite a bit less comfortable than those wearing tracksuits - just so you know.

Stay tuned for more updates and the Facebook invite (if you are on Facebook)!

hope for joel

Hi all. Please take a moment and read this bio. Our friend, and the Tracksuit Invitational's whistle and timer guy needs our support right now. We are so thankful to have raised over $10,000 so far - but we do still have some work to do. Share this with everyone, because every little bit helps. $5, $10, anything you can do! You can also come to the 7th Annual Track Suit Invitational and show your support!
Hope for Joel

welcome to the tracksuit party

Man. We are getting all kinds of formal this year. At first it was just a ridiculous party. We put on our tracksuit and destroyed the bars and streets of Fremont - Center of the Universe - Seattle. Each year it's gets better: more people, a Facebook page, more fun, and this year a blog and it's all for charity.
We are not going to let the cat completely out of the bag yet - but please stay tuned for all the updates, info, and shenanigans.
And welcome to the 7th Annual Tracksuit Invitational!
